Jhon exemplifies bravery; not because he’s a skydiving instructor, nor because he stepped up and became president of Alpha Phi Omega last term, but rather because he broke out of his shell, his introversion.  In our interview, Jhon told me that he is introverted. When he doesn’t know some people, Jhon says he likes to observe them from afar and see their actions, and consequently reactions. When I heard this, I thought he was joking. How could this former president, this skydiving instructor, this all around funny person be introverted? I honestly laughed when he told me this. But as I saw his reaction, although he laughed along with me, I could tell that he was being serious; I could tell that Jhon meant what he said. As we talked more, and I found out more about him, he did seem more and more introverted. On the other hand, the more I talked with him, the more it seemed as if Jhon was breaking out of his shell rather than being naturally extroverted. I learned that introverted people can be more than shy and take pleasure in doing stereotypical introverted activities. I learned that introverted people can very well be skydiving instructors, that they can be master ravers, that  they can be president of very large and influential organizations and finally that they can be brave. So I give this award to Jhon for not only showing me that bravery comes in all forms, but also reminding me that people have limitless possibilities: if there’s a will there’s a way.
